The Essential Medical Equipment Payment is an annual payment of $152 for people who have extra home energy costs from the use of essential medical equipment to manage their disability or medical condition. To get this payment, you must submit a claim. CPAP is a valid claim under positive airway pressure device. You are entitled to claim if:

    You have a valid concession card

    \n\t

  2. \n\t

    You are living in a place you are responsible for your own power bills (not a nursing home etc)

    You have a form (see below) signed by your GP

    4. \n\t
  4. \n\t

    You take it to Centrelink for approval.

  5. \n\t

    If you or the person you care for meet all the requirements to get a qualifying concession card, you will also meet the residence requirements for the payment.

    You must be in Australia to claim this payment. Payment is made annually and you must be in Australia on the anniversary date of payment each year.
