Our next meeting is our AGM followed by a general meeting. It will be held at Wagga Wagga, at the RSL Club, Dobbs Street, on Saturday 11 July 2015, commencing at 11am. We hope to see as many members as possible attending and extend a warm welcome to anyone interested in our versatile little breed (contact secretary or member to confirm date). Dexter discussion will be continued over lunch, for those able to stay.

Riverina Groups March meeting in Finley was well attended. Our President, Louise, discussed the outcomes of the AGM and special meeting in northern coastal NSW in October 2014. A motion was passed to thank DCAI council on implementing cost saving strategies in regard to auditing and also to request a general meeting be scheduled to follow AGMs, so that those members attending are able to have issues formally addressed, this given the wide expanse of our continent and that many members are only able to travel to meetings within their region. Louise also suggested the Murrumbateman Field day was successful and that she anticipated attending this year; requesting assistance from those able to attend.

\n\nCongratulations to Phoebe and Geoff, Terra Valens Stud, on their recent marriage. We wish them happiness together and hope that they continue to enjoy their recently acquired Dexters.

Louise Freckleton and her husband David were featured on ABC’s Landline, this month with Wagga’s ‘’Eat Local Thursday”. Although they have Dexters, their lamb which they sell at the markets was featured in the program. Well done Louise and David.

Gumlane stud, whose aim is to breeding quality Dexter beef, are pleased with their recent purchase of the homozygous polled bull, Sandy Creek Jax, to introduce polling into their herd.
\n\nCarragheen Stud has also introduced dun and red polled genetics to their herd as well as heritage Dexter genetics, in Woodmagic Hedgehog IV.
