\n\tWe have been phoned so often, by people who's band has just cancelled on them at the last minute! TALL POPPIES has a 100% reliability record for functions. We have NEVER let a client down for their function!!!! TALL POPPIES believes that 'The show must go on' and we pull out all 'stops' to ensure that happens e.g. Robbie, our drummer, discharged himself from A&E, saying he'd return in the morning to have his broken wrist operated on, with a plate inserted, so that he could play for the function that night! - Now that's commitment!
\n\tIn over 20 years in the business, we have experienced and dealt with possibly every type of issue that could arise, such as: moody, flitty, unprofessional musicians; musicians who think feeling a little unwell means they can't play; musicians who forget to write dates in a diary (or don't own a diary); musicians and sound techs with alcohol or drug issues; venue fuses blowing; musicians arriving late; unsuitable dress for formal occasions; musicians who can't interact nicely with clients and patrons etc etc. So TALL POPPIES is proud to have professional, reliable, talented, nice people on board :)
\n\tWe are experts in song choice! It's not about playing the musicians' favourite songs - it's about knowing and playing what the crowd wants to hear and will dance to! We have fully honed those skills.
\n\tMany of you may only invest in a band once in your life - the band can make or break the function so the right choice, and a budget that allows for that, is crucial.
\n\tThings can and do go wrong at functions sometimes, so every function needs someone like Robbie (our drummer), who is calm, practical, quick-thinking and able to problem-solve.
\n\tIt's one thing to be a talented vocalist or musician - but it's a whole different ball game to be an actual 'performer'. The main TALL POPPIES members have backgrounds in performance, dance, public speaking and hyping the crowd (aerobics instructing), and smiling! \n\nHow much does TALL POPPIES charge? The fee usually ranges from a minimum of $2500 up to $4500, depending on various factors.
\n\tAs a guideline, a standard quote, according to the size of a function is usually as follows:-
\n\tUp to 3 hrs (e.g. 9 pm start - 12.00 am end), for our 4-piece line-up:-
\n\t> Below 150 pax: $2500
\n\t> 151 - 250 pax: $3000
\n\t> 251 - 350 pax: $3500
\n\t> 351 - 450 pax: $4000
\n\t> Over 450 pax: $4500 etc
\n\nWhat factors affect the fee? The month (for instance, December is peak season); how busy we are around the date of your booking and if it's a long weekend or stat holiday.

\n\nHow is the booking confirmed? Confirmation involves a 10% deposit and a contract.
\n\t
\n\nWhat is included in the charge? Up to 3 hours booked from start to finish time, usually with 3 sets and breaks. We can provide our own P/A and lighting; and the complimentary service of mini-DJ music for before-hand and the breaks.

\n\nWhat is the complimentary mini-DJ service?! Our drummer, aka DJ Robbie, provides his own complimentary mini-DJ mix to play where required also. He has accumulated all the best songs over the years, and takes requests - so you will have all bases covered!

Where in New Zealand will they play? Only in Auckland , but not on Waiheke Island or on boats.
