\n\tThings to watch for: Active bleeding is an urgent concern. If blood is visibly flowing apply pressure to the wound to stop bleeding, and contact Dr Sales or dial 000 for the ambulance.

\n\n\tAlso contact Dr Sales or the surgery if there is increasing redness, increasing pain, extruding head through the ring or inability to urinate. The ring should have fallen off itself by 4 to 10 days postoperatively. Contact the surgery if it is still attached 10 days after operation.
\n\n\t
\n\n\tBathe the baby daily. Apply Betadine Ointment to the ring and wound every nappy change and after bathing for 3 days and then Vaseline until the wound heals- about 2 weeks in total.
\n\n\tUse disposable nappies for 3 weeks after the surgery with frequent changes. If a reaction to the Betadine occurs - ie redness or irritation, Vaseline could be used on the wound with each change instead.
\n\n\tUse paracetamol 0.6ml of 100mg/ml if he is in pain. Maximum 4 doses in 24 hours.

\n\tThere is no need to be reviewed at the surgery after the operation unless there is a problem.
