Although an appetite for sporting success and a constant craving for decadent fine-dining are not often synonymous, self-proclaimed “foodie,” Eamon Sullivan has carved out a career path that has thus far proven to be as diverse as his many talents. As a former world-recording holding Sprint Swimmer, Eamon is perhaps best known for his accomplishments as an athlete. However, since retiring from swimming in 2014, he has had more time to focus on his other passions, namely food.
In 2009, Eamon won the title of Australia’s first ever Celebrity Masterchef. It was after this success, he would go onto open Subiaco's own unique, warm espresso bar, Louis Baxters, in 2011. In the same year, he also released his first cookbook, Eamon’s kitchen.
Since first dipping his toe into the world of hospitality with Louis Baxters, Eamon became so passionate about serving fresh, local produce that he was inspired to open his first restaurant, Bib & Tucker, in 2013. With the support it's co-owners, Bib & Tucker continues to grow and delight diners with it's rustic menu and idyllic beachside location. So much so, that the success of Bib and Tucker has birthed the opening of a sister restaurant, May Street Larder, which opened it’s doors in 2015.
Eamon now splits his time between Bib & Tucker, May Street Larder and Louis Baxters. His hands-on approach resulting in consistently fresh, high quality food and the best service across all three locations. Recently, he has also taken on the role of WA distributor for Cocowhip - a delicious and healthy vegan soft serve, now delighting the palettes of restaurant patrons in over 15 locations in WA.
And yet, this athlete, restaurateur, entrepreneur and lover of sarcastic humour always looking to the future and eagerly awaiting the next project he can throw himself into. Eamon’s charismatic personality has firmly positioned him as a popular media favourite, having competed in Channel 7’s Dancing with the Stars and co-hosting on programs such as Destination WA and Our State on a Plate. His extensive experience in sporting, media and business fields continues to increase demand for Eamon to appear as an MC and guest speaker at various local and interstate events.
However, in spite of all his accomplishments, his french bulldogs Baxter and Duke remain unimpressed by his activities that do not revolve around them and are beginning to complain that he isn't home often enough.
