Since forming the HDWA has successfully campaigned to:</p>\n\n<ul class=\"font_8\">\n\t<li>\n\t<p class=\"font_8\">Stop the dog exercise area at Cornelian Bay becoming drastically reduced</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p class=\"font_8\">Stop the proposed ban of dogs on Bellerive Beach in 2007.&nbsp; In 2015, the HDWA again lobbied to keep the status quo on Bellerive Beach.&nbsp; Sadly, the Clarence City Council decided to ban dogs from what was the on-lead section from 2008, and Apex Park.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p class=\"font_8\">Stop a section of Chapel Street Reserve, in Glenorchy, from&nbsp;being given away.&nbsp; Like many in the community we did not want&nbsp;public open space given&nbsp;away&nbsp;for the exclusive use of one group to build a temple</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p class=\"font_8\">Stop the proposed ban of on-lead dogs on Nutgrove Beach, in Sandy Bay</p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<h6 class=\"font_6\">Council liaison</h6>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">Behind the scenes we&nbsp;regularly liaise with Councils and&nbsp;strive to build positive and&nbsp; relationships with Councils.&nbsp; Two-way communication and consultation is vital.</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">Every year we support Council dog events by participating in events. We are&nbsp;delighted to be allocated a stall at:</p>\n\n<ul class=\"font_8\">\n\t<li>\n\t<p class=\"font_8\">Dogs Day Out &ndash; organised by Clarence City Council</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p class=\"font_8\">Dogs on the Domain &ndash; organised by Hobart City Council</p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">More information about council submissions and correspondence can be found&nbsp;here.</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<h6 class=\"font_6\">Meetings</h6>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">The Hobart Dog Walking Association is incorporated and holds&nbsp;committee meetings every few months.&nbsp; Meetings are open should you wish to bring a matter to our attention.</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">Members will be advised of our meeting venue for 2019.</p>\n\n<h6 class=\"font_6\">&nbsp;</h6>\n\n<h6 class=\"font_6\">Social walks</h6>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">The Hobart Dog Walking Association conducts several&nbsp;social walks per month.&nbsp; The walks are held in different locations so we get to know different walking areas for dogs &ndash; and because we like variety</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">​</span></p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">The walks are easy to a&nbsp;medium standard as our members and dogs are of varied age.</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">Our <span style=\"font-weight:bold\">walks program</span> may be found on the <span style=\"text-decoration:underline\"><a dataquery=\"#textLink_j6juzguc\">Walks and Events webpage</a></span></p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<h6 class=\"font_6\">Membership</h6>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">We welcome members interested in promoting the aims and objectives of responsible dog ownership and the importance of dog exercise areas.</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">Our members tend to live in the Hobart, Glenorchy and Clarence municipalities.&nbsp; However, we have had members for other areas (including Victoria)</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">Annual Membership Fees</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">Family Membership $25</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">Adult Membership $15</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">Concession Adult $10</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">Junior $5</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">​</span></p>\n\n<p class=\"font_8\">Half rates for new members after 1st&nbsp;January.
