\nDunoon Sport’s Club is celebrating this year’s International Women’s Day by acknowledging women within the district for their ongoing achievements with the very first “Dunoon and District Woman of the Year 2019” award with our very own Carol Shipard as our Master of Ceremony.

\nThis year’s International Women’s Day campaign theme is “Balance for Better”.
\n
\nJenny Dowell, our beloved Lismore Mayor will be our Guest Speaker.
Combined action and a shared responsibility for driving a gender-balanced world is the key. To accelerate the gender-balance, we need to take an inclusive approach, with each person becoming an agent of change. We all have a part to play in making a positive difference for women everywhere.
\n\n
\nJoin us at the club on March 8 from 6pm to recognise the accomplishments of women in this district. Collectively, we can make a difference. Let’s all help create a “Balance for Better” world for everyone.
\nNominate someone you believe is worthy of this award by requesting the nomination form from the Dunoon Sports club and return it by emailing to dunoonclub@bigpond.com or handing it into the club. Closing date is 27 February 2019.
Food: The Restaurant will be delighting us all with a scrumptious buffet made with love to suit all tastes. Charlie will be honoring his mother, the most important woman in his life by cooking her amazing recipes.Please book in advance as we may need to hire more tables and chairs.

Currently based in Byron Bay, she performs regularly throughout Australia and performs in the UK. She has shared the lineup at festivals and conferences with the likes of The Dalai Lama, Tash Sultana, Eileen Jewell, Julien Baker, Olympia and Lior.

\nHer debut album, Kismet, is set for release in November 2018. For this, she has been working alongside Melbourne based producer, Greg O’Shae. Amongst his many successes are his productions of platinum-selling Albums Joyful Rebellion (2004) and Atlantis: Hymns for Disco (2006) by k-os.
\nShe is a member of The Bay Collective, a community of Byron Bay-based professional musicians.
