Whilst the lead training and testing centre is located in Victoria University, Melbourne, the lead centre for high throughput genomics will be at Bond University and Queensland University of Technology (QUT).</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_7\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_7\">The cohort is made up of moderately-trained, healthy participants (all men aged 20-45 years, body mass index &le; 30 kg/m2). Participants are undergoing similar exercise testing and exercise training in three different laboratories. Dietary habits are assessed by questionnaire and nutritionist consultation. Activity history is assessed by questionnaire and current activity level is assessed by activity monitoring. A number of muscle and blood analyses are to be performed, including genotyping, mitochondrial respiration, transcriptomics, epigenome (methylation status), and enzyme activity.</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">​</span></p>\n\n<h6 class=\"font_6\">How did the facility help?</h6>\n\n<p class=\"font_7\">The Molecular Diagnostics Facility (MDF) was able to provide a comprehensive study design encompassing all aspects of the study. Along with facilitating and advising on the appropriate methodologies, the GRC also advised on the study design and purchase of necessary reagents/assays to perform the study. The GRC will continue to assist in the study to ensure high quality data from template extraction, assay optimisation, assay performance and data collection through to data analysis and interpretation.</p>\n\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">​</span></p>\n\n<h6 class=\"font_6\">Outcome</h6>\n\n<p class=\"font_7\">The project is ongoing.
