Custom Made Mouthguards for adults and children in Sydney

Mouthguards are used to protect teeth by spreading the force of any impact on our teeth. It is recommended to be worn when contact to the lower face is possible. e.g. during any ball sports or contact sports.

\n\n

 

\n\n

There are four types of mouthguards, the first type is the store bought premade mouthguards, the second type is the “boil and bite” mouthguard which is store bought warmed in hot water and bit down to mildly adapt to your teeth, the third type is vacuum formed and fourth type is pressure moulded.

\n\n

 

\n\n

At Claremont Meadows Dental Surgery we only prescribe Type 4 pressure-moulded mouthguards and can only recommend these, as they have the best adaptation to your teeth and hence the best protection. This is done by taking an impression of your teeth and a mouthguard is made by high pressure and heat.
