Please consider the following points regarding your ongoing care and maintenance for your oil/waxed timber flooring. It should be noted a good standard of cleaning must be maintained to preserve the slip resistance characteristics of the timber floor finish.

\n\nNote: All specified intervals are intended as rough guidelines and will vary according to the actual floor traffic. Therefore no warranty claims can be derived from this information. Dirt and dust have an abrasive effect on your floor and therefore mus be removed immediately. Deep cleaning should be performed infrequently and can be delayed significantly by following the recommended schedule for maintenance cleaning.

\n\nMaintenance Cleaning:
\n\n
\n\nOiled Floors:
\n\nDilute 50-100ml of LOBA Parkettsoap to a bucket (10L) of water and damp mop the floor.
\n\n
\n\nWaxed Floors:
\n\nDilute 50-100ml of LOBA Parkettwax Cleaner to a bucket (10L) of water and damp mop the floor.
\n\n
\n\nDeep Cleaning:
\n\n
\n\nOiled Floors:
\n\nDilute LOBA Parkettsoap 1:2 with water and clean the floor using a brush or green pad.
\n\n\n\n
Remove soil afterwards and clean with water. After drying, the floor MUST be treated with Parkett oil
\n\n
\n\nMaintenance Care:

\n\nOiled Floors:
\n\nApply Parkett oil using a lobatool spray can, a single disc buffing machine using a white pad or by a thin cloth. The Parkett oil is easy to apply, refreshes your flooring, encloses small scratches in the surface, increases the water resistance of the impregnation oil and keeps the anti-slip properties of the finish used.
\n\n
\n\nWaxed Floors:
\n\nThe Parkett Wax can be applied by using a lobatool spray can, a single disc machine or by a thin cloth. The Parkett wax is easy to apply, refreshes your flooring, encloses small scratched in the surface, increases the water resistance of the impregnation wax and keeps the anti-slip properties of the finish used.
\n\n
\n\nPreventative Maintenance:
\n\n
\n\nBasic Maintenance
\n\nPending on area size please allow 6 hours after the final coating from the oil/wax has been applied before entering light traffic
\n\tAvoid shoes, heavy furniture and cleaning products for up to 7 days, this allows the flooring time to cure. In commercial instances where this is not possible please wait a minimum of 24 hours or as long as possible after the first 24 hours.
\n\tDrying time is pending weather conditions and air flow, colder weather may delay drying time. If this is a concern please confirm approximate drying time prior to Creative Flooring Solutions commencing works
\n\t
\n\tNote: Light Traffic Means avoid and limit the amount of dirt and grime that may come in contact with the flooring, no shoes, no heavy traffic or no heavy furniture, socks only!
\n\n
Sweeping
\n\nDirt and dust can act as abrasives, this can potentially cause the flooring to scratch and wear and significantly affect the anti-slip resistance particularly when the flooring is new or recently refurbished.
\n\tTo avoid abrasions it is recommended to remove dust and grime on a daily basis, on larger areas this may be achieved by using a scissors mop or vacuum cleaner
\n\t\n\n
General Cleaning
\n\nCleaning should be undertaken using a natural detergent, this will prevent the deposit of materials from the cleaner to the flooring
\n\tOn heavily used and/or commercial flooring general cleaning may seem unable to remove all of the dirt or marks, it is possible to clean using a more abrasive pad ie, a red pad or equivalent. Excessive continuous use of aggressive pads may dull or physically damage the finish on the flooring.
\n\t
\n\tNote: As every floor is different it may be more difficult to clean efficiently in high traffic or large areas using a mop and bucket. if this method is used it is important to change the water regularly and to keep the mop as dry as possible by wringing the mop thoroughly. This Method is possible to use in low traffic areas or where spot cleaning is required. By using a wet mop you may incure excess moisture that can lead to moisture problems causing your flooring to fail.
\n\n
It is clearly false economy having a newly refurbished floor if poor maintenance procedures are in place as the surface will become damaged within a short space of time. Preventing a floor from becoming dirty or damaged is as important as cleaning it. If the level of soiling can be reduced then so can the level of cleaning and similarly if a floor neither is nor physically damaged it will remain in good condition for longer this reducing the cost for repairs.
\n\n\n\n
Spills
\n\nIt is extremely important for all spillages to be cleaned as soon as possible and a general cleaning to be carried out to remove excess materials that may contaminate the flooring
\n\tAll glass/crockery fragments are to be removed from the flooring immediately. If a sharp object becomes in contact with the flooring it will cut and scratch the finish. The presence on the floor of glass and crockery particles will both cut the finish and of tern planes the finish from the surface therefore, it is extremely important to remove any spillage as quickly and effectively as possible as well as care taken to remove sharp debris
\n\tFloors where spillage of food etc. occurs may been to be cleaned occasionally using cleaner/soap to remove stubborn deposits and the build up of grease. Deposition of such materials may cause the surface of the floor to become slippery, the removal process usually would only be required, perhaps 3-6 month intervals, dependant upon the use of the floor and the efficiency of the cleaning/maintenance process.
\n\t\n\n
Matting
\n\nThe Matting available should be examined. Ideally matting should be as large as possible and contain 2 components, the first a proper grit capturing affect and the second to absorb and remove any moisture. This will minimise the level of soiling carried onto the flooring that will cause an abrasive sanding effect
\n\tA Study by 3M has shown that a 2 meter long system will remove 42% of all dirt from shoes entering a building. Clearly if this is removed and retained then it does not have to be cleaned from the floors later by the maintenance shedule put in place
\n\tIt is important to remember that dirt and grit can be tracked in from service entrances as well as the 'front door'. For instance the movemen of goods on trolleys etc nto kitchen or storage areas can bring dirt onto the floor.
\n\tFurniture
\n\nThe flooring must be thoroughly dry before placing furniture onto it. When placing furniture onto the flooring please take extra precaution by lifting and placing the furniture opposed to pushing or dragging
\n\tProtective feet such as felt and/or protector rubber pads and recommended to attach to chairs, tables, cabinets and other necessary furniture to reduce noise and scratch marks from patrons and/or guests, often this is an issue due to items being dragged opposed to lifted and placed
