Annika grew up in the north of Germany, listening to cassette tapes explaining the lives of the great composers to children. Plus the Ghostbusters soundtrack and Nena's 99 Luftballons. Ever since, she has loved music and art and enjoys life with as much of it in it as possible. She studied fine art and English in Germany, then graphic design and illustration in London. She moved to Adelaide in 2008 and has been enjoying Adelaide's art and music scene ever since.

Before leaving the Shoals to pursue a career as a technician, James studied extensively with saxophonist Jeff Coffin in Nashville, and has shared the stage with Swampers David Hood and Harvey Thompson, Rick Bell, Prince Damons, and Byard Lancaster. As a technician, James has done professional woodwind and brasswind repair for many major orchestras and players from around the world, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the NY Met, the NY Opera and Ballet, The Metropolitan Art Museum, The Sun Ra Arkestra, and most recently the Adelaide Symphony and Police Band. At present he can sometimes be found playing among illustrious company with Chesterfield Brass, the Mike Stewart Big Band, Satan's Cheerleaders, the Atlantic Street Band, and other local ensembles.

She has been a core member of the COMA (Creative Original Music Adelaide) committee since 2007, working on the presentation and promotion of original music in Adelaide and helping co-ordinate twice-monthly concert presentations continuously for ten years.

Alex regularly performs throughout the Adelaide music scene, as a freelance trombonist and sousaphonist, and is a musical director in the JazzSA SuperBand program.

He graduated from the Conservatorium in 2009 with first class honours. In 2011, with assistance from the Helpmann Academy, he travelled to New York to undertake private study with Kenny Werner, Paul Bollenback, Adam Rogers and John Abercrombie. Sam is a member of the ambient-jazz/rock/etc. trio Yeahyeahabsolutelynoway! They have recorded two albums “Um..” (2014) and ”Ah..” (2017) and in 2014 toured Australia and New Zealand in support of “Um..”. Also In 2014 Sam was commissioned by JazzSA to arrange the music of The Whitlams and as a result he collaborated with members of Zephyr Quartet to form the unconventional string quartet Little Cloud which has since become a vehicle to perform his original compositions.

Originally an Honours graduate of the Elder Conservatorium, Lyndon has performed with many top Australian players including Jamie Oehlers, Ted Vining and Steve Magnusson. He has led his own trio, Triptych, for over five years now. This ensemble has recorded two albums of original music and performed around Australia, including Australia’s premier jazz festival, the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz. Outside of the jazz world, Lyndon has enjoyed success with the folk/alternative country ensemble The Audreys. The band has toured extensively throughout Australia and overseas. As a member of the group Lyndon has won two ARIA awards for the albums “Between Last Night and Us” and “When the Flood Comes”. Lyndon has also been able to perform with groups from a wide variety of genres, including neo-classical outings and dance based electronic groups. He is currently undertaking a Masters in Performance at the University of Adelaide.

Anna has travelled extensively in Europe and taken lessons and masterclasses with many prominent clarinettists including Wolfgang Meyer, Barnaby Robson and Michel Arrignon. In 2012 she undertook a study tour to Israel to work with klezmer clarinetist, Giora Feidman and most recently she has been touring regional Australia and Malaysia with Co-opera's production of Die Fledermaus. She recently joined the COMA committee at the start of 2014.

In 2012 Angus was selected as one of six instrumental finalists from around Australia in the James Morrison Jazz Scholarship. In 2016, he won the inaugural Mike Stewart Memorial Award through the Helpmann Academy, and in 2017 was nominated for a South Australian Music Award for his debut album as band leader, ‘Flatlands’. Currently he is working on a variety of projects ranging from post bebop jazz to avant-garde instrumental music.
