Please bear in mind that the more united and organized we are, the more stronger our community will be. To achieve this, becoming a member is the first step.

\n\nAshenda 2018
\n\n
\n\nAshenda is a unique and beautiful traditional holiday celebrated in Tigray region, Northern Ethiopia, in August following the ending of a two-week long fasting called 'filseta'. Every year, girls and young women dresses up their beautiful traditional outfits and celebrates this event in the streets by singing and dancing.
\n\nLast year, this event has been organized in Houston by Tigray community and has been celebrated spectacularly.
\n\nHence this year, this unique festivity is going to be celebrated on September 01, 2018.

\n\nPicnic 2018
\n\n
\n\nA 'Picnic' event was celebrated on May 06, 2018 at Eldridge Park in Sugarland. This Event was a special day which brought together kids, families and the remaining community members. Thanks to the Picnic sub-committee members, the event was really astonishing and every body from kids to adults have really enjoyed it. The games and plays prepared by the committee were really unbelievable and we all of us had lots of fun moment.
\n\nGiven that, this is the first picnic event ever hosted by Houston Tigray community, we are very confident that the number of participants of this event will be even higher next year.

\n\n'Yekatit' 11 (የካቲት 11 )
\n\n
\n\n'Yekatit' 11 is one of the three major events in which the community has been celebrating every year. This special event was celebrated on February 10, 2018 in remembrance of those Martyrs who had sacrificed their precious life for freedom, peace and prosperity of our people. This event was a heartwarming example of what makes our community special even during the time of difficulty.

Ashenda 2017
\n\n\n\n
Tigray community Houston has successfully celebrated the festivity of Ashenda Event for the first time in September 09, 2017. The event was organized by the Community's board members and Ashenda sub-committee. On this event, more than 150 beautiful girls and young women of the community has showed up and celebrated this memorable day.
