The Mediterranean coast of Turkey with its cliffs that plunge into the sea and its deep gorges opening on to sandy beaches was home to many ancient cities, perfectly sited for sea trade, commerce and the wealth of their environment. Peoples from Lycian and Phrygian to Greek and Roman have left their mark on this coastline that was such an important part of the ancient world.

This tour takes you from Bodrum, ancient Halicarnassus, to Antalya in an unhurried journey of discovery and enjoyment of this beautiful region. A gulet, a traditional Turkish timber yacht is your luxurious home for seven nights of the 13 on the Mediterranean. From it the stunning scenery and wonderful sites of the Lycian Way are ours. The Lycian Way is a 500-‐km ancient trail linking the settlements along this rugged shore. Respect for Turkey’s ‘father’ by a visit to Atatürk’s Memorial is followed by a drive to Safranbolu, the exquisite Ottoman town with its renovated buildings making it a World Heritage site. Two nights staying in an Ottoman house boutique hotel gives time to wander the streets of this town and for a trip to Amasra, a charning town on the Black Sea.
