Birds Bush and Beyond takes on a range of projects with an emphasis on the conservation of woodland and wetland birds and their habitats, focussing on:

design and implementation of ecological monitoring projects and field surveys, especially around threatened species and communities,
\n\t\n\n
development of landscape and species conservation management plans,
\n\t\n\n
assessment of woodland and wetland ecosystems to provide strategic information on their management,
\n\t\n\n
working with community groups, such as Conservation Management Networks and Landcare Networks, to establish and then carry-out bird and habitat monitoring programs,
\n\t\n\n
providing specialist ecological advice to land managers
\n\t\n\n

\n\nPractical Parrot Action Project – supporting the recovery of the threatened Turquoise Parrot (consulting for the Goulburn Broken CMA in north-east Victoria);
\n\t\n\n
Monitoring woodland birds at a landscape-scale as part of the Australian Government-funded “Enriching biodiversity in the NSW Riverina Bioregion by managing the Travelling Stock Reserves network for nature conservation” project;
\n\t\n\n
Establishing community bird monitoring programs for the Loddon Plains Landcare Network on Victoria’s northern plain and the Upper Barwon Landcare Network near the Otway Ranges;
\n\t\n\n
Sand Ridge Woodland Bird Monitoring Project – designing and carrying-out a monitoring program in the Murray Valley for the Goulburn Broken CMA and educating members of the Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation on field sampling techniques and bird identification.
