WINDOW SAFETY

The NSW state government has mandated that all openable windows above ground floor height, less than 1.7m above the floor in Strata buildings must be fitted with devices that prevent them opening more than 12.5 centimetres. This has already taken effect for new constructions and existing buildings will be given time to retrofit.

\n\n

 

\n\n

Allchex is pleased to offer inspections and quotes to provide compliant devices. If convenient, the window inspections can be arranged to coincide with the Annual Fire Safety Inspections through our Fire Services division at Firechex to avoid the need to arrange multiple access visits.

Our Simple 2 Step Procedure

1. Assessment

\n\n

Our initial inspection involves an external inspection of the building to determine the window type and configuration and an internal inspection of at least one typical (non ground floor) unit. We shall then provide you with a brief written assessment of window locks/safety devises required and quote to achieve compliance.

2. Works & Certification

\n\n

We shall contact all occupants by delivering letters to letterboxes, schedule in works and monitor non responding units. Once all have been attended to we shall issue the Strata Manager with certification confirming that all windows have been fitted with compliant locks.
