\n\nThe Foundation was formed in 2010, to build a financial base on which the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby Union Football Club, could protect itself in the future from the many challenges which a combination of an amateur ethic and a professional playing structure could impose on it.
\n\tThe Foundation is structured with a separate governing Board and a Trust Deed, which directs the Board to apply funds in accordance with the Deed’s terms
\n\tThe Fund is also required to provide six monthly reports to the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) which monitors the Fund to ensure its expenditure complies with qualifying expenditure as agreed with the provisions of the ASF.
\n\tThe Fund is able to provide financial assistance to the Club in:
\n\t
\n\nEasts Rugby Foundation supports the building of pathways for boys and girls from junior to senior rugby at Eastern Suburbs Rugby Union Football Club through fundraising tax deductible donations.
\n\nThe Foundation goals are to build pathways for all players across 3 strategic pillars at the club:
\n\nCulture - to lead our peers in ‘club culture’ & make a meaningful and positive contribution to the community;
\n\tCareers - to be the first choice for players;
\n\tRugby - including:
\n\n\tShute Shield - to support Easts rugby in its goal to win its first premiership in 50 years
\n\t\tJuniors - to bring senior and junior clubs together to ensure a seamless pathway from junior to senior rugby.

\n\nOver the 2017 and 2018 season the Foundation has provided over $100,000 of funding across a significant number of initiatives in order to achieve its strategic goals across these three pillars:

\n\tSponsored two players from Humboldt State University in US from late June to August 2017. Sponsored players in US during the off season

Donations
\nIndividuals and businesses are able to make tax-deductible donations to the ASF in support of the East Rugby Union Foundation project, which is registered, with the ASF. A donation is an unconditional gift made to the ASF, offered voluntarily and not as a result of contractual obligation, and for which the donor receives no material benefit or expectation of benefit in return. Donations are made to the ASF nominating the Easts Foundation as the beneficiary. In this way you donation in support of the club’s Foundation is tax deductible.

Bequests
\nIndividuals may also leave a gift in their Will to the Foundation. In this case the donation does not need to go through the ASF and can be donated to Easts Eastern Suburbs Rugby Union Foundation Limited (as trustee for the Eastern Suburbs Rugby Union Capital Trust)

\n\nDirector: Emily Ulcoq (Chairperson)

\n\nEmily is currently COO and Director, Strategy & Operations Tax, KPMG Australia. Emily drives transformational Tax change in business for growth. In professional services she drives organisational change programs for profitable growth and ensure they operates efficiently and effectively . Emily’s strengths include strategising with and influencing key stakeholders to undertake initiatives and make decisions that help achieve business goals.
\n\nEmily has qualifications and breadth of experience across KPMG in Australia, coupled with extensive experience working in investment banks and a captive private equity fund in the UK. She approaches work, sports and life with high levels of energy, passion and drive. Emily is a full time working mother of four very dynamic sport loving children and in support of them is very involved in Easts Juniors, North Bondi Nippers and KRB Aquatics swimming club.

Director: Andrew Petrie
\nAndrew Petrie has a financial background being a past director of the leading UK investment bank and a past Chairman and Non Executive Director of four Societe Generale subsidiary Companies. He has also worked in London and New York. Andrew has been a Councillor and Community leader of The Woollahra Municipality for the past 23 years including 5 terms as mayor. Andrew has been a strong supporter of local sport including providing sporting Council facilities for the local Schools and sporting Clubs. He has been a member of Easts Rugby Club and a supporter of all the teams and players.

Director: David Leckie
\nDavid played Rugby at Newington College from 1962 – 1968. He was Club Captain at Macquarie University in 1972 when they won all the grades in 2nd Division. David was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Seven Media Group in December 2006 and had been Chief Executive Officer of Broadcast Television for Seven Network Limited since April 2003 and remains a consultant for the Seven Network.
Previously, 24 years with the Nine Network, with 11 years as the Chief Executive Officer of the Nine Network.

Director: Stuart Hudson
\nStuart Hudson is currently a Financial Adviser at the Switzer Financial Group and has an extensive background in financial and capital markets, including 17 years at Societe Generale Australia Limited and prior to that UBS. The most recent role Stuart held at Societe Generale was as Director Financial Markets, Head of Money Markets and Foreign Exchange.
Stuart is a qualified planner with a Diploma of Financial Planning and an accredited Self Managed Superannuation Fund specialist from Kaplan. Stuart is currently completing a Master of Commerce (Financial Planning) at UWS.

Director: John Murray
\n\nJohn is the current President of Easts Rugby Club, having been appointed to the board at the 2011 AGM. John’s children have played down at Easts over the last ten years hence John has been active with the Bays Junior Club. Being a non-ex Easts player John brings a refreshing approach and ideas to the board. John was elected President at the 2014 AGM after serving as Vice President of House since 2011.

COMPANY SECRETARY: Sean Rahilly
\nSean is a Vice President of Easts Rugby Club, he has background in corporate governance with over 20 years’ experience in investment banking. The last 15 years he has worked with the French bank Societe Generale, where he was the Head of Compliance for the Investment bank in the Asia Pacific region. He is a Chartered Accountant, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
