About this qualification:
\n\nThis qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.
\n\nWorkers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.
\n\n\n\n
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
\n\n
\n\nCareer Opportunities:
\n\nThe Certificate IV in Ageing Support is intended to prepare students or recognise and develop existing workers who are performing a range of care and supervisor based roles in a Home and Community Care environment.

Pre- entry Requirements:
\n\nAll students must be working in a relevant Home and Community Care role within a registered Home and Community Care organisation
\n\tAll students must of the age of 18 years or over at the time of applying for admission at College.
\n\tEntry into this course requires successful completion of an Australian Year 10 qualification or equivalent. However, selection is not based purely on academic performance. Relevant work experience, work samples and other documentation submitted will also be considered.
\n\tIn addition to meeting the academic requirements applicants must demonstrate their competence in literacy and numeracy levels when enrolling into the course.
\n\tMature age students will also be considered without the minimum education requirements but with relevant work experience within chosen area of study and a demonstrated capacity to meet course requirements.

\n\nTo gain entry into CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support, a candidate must be recognised as competent, through a recognised training program or recognition process, against the following core units from CHC30312 Certificate III in Home and Community Care (or equivalent):

Delivery and Assessment:
\n\nWe offer students the flexibility of blended delivery or workplace training. Assessment methods allow for the gathering of sufficient quality evidence about the student’s performance. Methods used include question and answer, observation and demonstration, and case study.
