Date and time of sighting
\nRecord date and time. Its always better to record immediatly rather than trying to remember details at a later date
\nDuration of sighting
\nNote time at beginning and end of sighting. This could include any reappearance of the object.
\nObject shape
\nNote shape, colour, lights and other features of the object. Make a detailed drawing and have other witnesses do the same.
\nYour location
\nRecord your exact location. If possible record your GPS via a phone ap like Google Earth.
\nObject size
\nEstimated the size of the object. Use examples like a car, plane, building or celestial bodies like a star or the moon.
\nElevation
\nDegrees above the horizon . This can be done by pointing your finger at the UFO and using the angle of your arm as a reference.
\nDirection of travel
\nNote where the object was first seen and last seen. Use a compass if nessisary to detirmine the dircetion taken by the craft.
\nObject speed
\nTry to estimate the speed of the object or use an example like the speed of a helicopter, plane, jet or faster.
\nDistance from witness
\nEstimate less than 1 km, more than 1-5km etc. Use landmarks if possible to gauge distance from your position.
\nObject behaviour
\nNote any manoeuvres the craft may perform like hovering, changing direction, taking off, circling etc.
\n\n
Be sure to record the above points as these are details that may be asked when making a report.
\n\nIt is also very important to take photos or video of the craft for future analysis. If possible try to include landmarks to assist in gauging its distance and elevation. Also try to attract the attention of as many witnesses as possible as they can validate your sighting and be aware of things you may have missed.
