We discovered the Giant Tipis at the 2004 Glastonbury Music Festival in the UK and knew it was exactly what the wedding and event industry was missing; a unique and stunning alternative to the traditional marquee. In 2010, we founded SamiKata Tipi Events, the original Australian Nordic Tipi Company that was based in Sydney and travelled the entire East Coast of Australia creating high end, stylish weddings and events from Hamilton Island in North Queensland to Phillip Island in Southern Victoria, and everywhere else in between. After our 3 babies came along we knew that we had to put down some roots and was drawn to the incredibly beautiful, community spirited and atmospheric Byron Bay. We had done a number of weddings in the area and knew that this was the place we’d like to raise our kids, call home and be a part of the fabulous wedding community.
