St Jude's provides a free, high-quality education to students who, due to poverty and social pressures, would otherwise be unlikely to complete their schooling.

Drawn from families who often live on less than $1.9 per day, the students at St Jude's are shining examples of what students can achieve when they are given the opportunity to receive a high-quality education.

Since 2002 the school has added approximately 150 students to the school each year, and in 2015 the first senior class graduated from secondary school. In this same year, the school set up a model that supports graduated students through tertiary education, and sees St Jude’s being proactive in the creation of the next generation of Tanzanian leaders.

The Situation
\n\nTanzania remains a very poor country, ranking 199 out of 229 nations in the world for GDP per capita. Its government school system is overstretched and under resourced, making it incredibly challenging for students to gain a quality education.
