Technology is taught throughout the school curriculum, and computers are used as a regular part of learning in all subjects through Primary and Secondary School.

\n\nComputer Technology
\n\nComputer Technology is a major part of all our lives. At CCS we endeavour to make sure that we are up-to-date with its use and implementation, with a well-equipped computer lab (iMacs) and reliable access to internet, mail and school intranet. Every student is encouraged to use technology in an appropriate manner that brings glory to God.
\n\n
\n\nPrimary Students, as a part of the Science and Technology Key Learning Area, have one computer lesson per week, and each classroom is equiped with several computers for every day learning.
\n\n
\n\nInformation Software Technology (IST) is a compulsory subject in Year 9.
\n\n\n\n
Years 9/10 – Automotive Elective
\n\nThe Automotive elective class covers all aspects of vehicle maintenance and associated vehicle component systems. In three Automotive periods a week, students learn theory in one and spend the other two doing practical work on a range of vehicles, from the school’s ride-on mower, tractor, engines and a number of cars. Students work on engines, sectioning 2 and 4 stroke small motor projects.

Students are also provided with the opportunity to drive most of these vehicles with parental permission and under direct teacher supervision, providing practical driving experience.
\n\n\n\n
Excursions to PRIMEX, TAFE and a number of automotive businesses are essential to understand latest trends and emerging technologies in the automotive industry.
\n\n\n\n
Years 9/10 – Timber (Woodwork) Elective
\n\nThe Woodwork elective class covers aspects of using timber to make a variety of items. In three Woodwork periods a week, students learn theory, workshop safety and practical work - with projects such as drawing boards, T-squares, rolling pins, magazine racks, spice racks, coffee tables and footstools. They also produce a major wood project of their own design in Year 10.

\n\nYear 9/10 - Food Technology Elective
\n\nFood Technology covers both the practical and theoretical components of cooking and the food industry. Students have weekly practical lessons where they learn cooking techniques and recipes, and theory lessons covering nutrition, food handling, the legal aspects of the food and hospitality industry and ways foods and eating practices have changed over time.
\n\n
\n\nYears 7/8 – Technology (Mandatory)
\n\nStudents have a variety of studies, in each of the school’s Technology facilities, including theory and practical experiences in Food Technology, Industrial Technology (Automotive or Woodwork), Promotional Design (Computing) and other areas.
\n\n\n\n
These studies enable students to use their gifts in many design and technology areas, and assist with their future elective subject choices in Years 9 to 12.

\n\nHSC Technology Electives
\n\nSenior Secondary students have the option to study Design and Technology and Information Processes and Technology for their HSC. The course includes mandatory topics, but has a wide scope for students to develop their own projects and special interests.
\n\n\n\n
Recent Major Projects from D & T students have included, textiles, drone technology, metal fabrication, computing and software design, and food technology.
