The Lawson Park Hotel has been trading since the mid 1860’s, it was originally known as the Tattersalls Hotel but had a name change in the 1970’s to The Lawson Park Hotel, due to its proximity to Lawson Park.
\n\nInterestingly Lawson Park was not named after Mudgee’s mast famous resident, the great poet Henry Lawson but after the famous explorer Lieutenant William Lawson of Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth fame , the first explorers to cross the Blue Mountains.
