Riding a poorly fit saddle is a pain in the you-know-what, which is why SQlab makes ergonomically designed saddles in multiple widths.

\nSQlab has introduced new concepts to saddle design which create a better fit for more performance while eliminating pain and discomfort such as numbness. The exclusive Stepped Design of SQlab saddles distributes body weight in the right places, mainly the sitbones, while reducing pressure on soft tissue in the perineum area with the SQlab Pressure Free Zone. SQlab also offers its exclusive Active Design with T-Beam Technology which allows the saddle shell to follow the bio-mechanical movement of the pelvis on each pedal stroke. This results in a decrease of pressure on the sitbones and a mobilization of the spinal discs. Saddles are available in both active and standard designs.

FAQ 2: What is the SQ lab 'saddle width system'?
\n\nAll SQlab saddles come in three or four different widths. SQlab dealers are trained by us and are able to measure your seat bone distance and will calculate, depending on the seat position and riding style, the optimum saddle width.

FAQ 5: What is SQlab's Ergowave® design:?

The new shape – a new era for SQlab! Developed in a research project and in collaboration with the University Hospital of Frankfurt and the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. Government funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. For the first time, we were able to calculate the forces occurring deep within the structures of the body and the maximum load between the cyclist and the bike saddle. The final result is the new ERGOWAVE saddle shape for a more ergonomically agressive seating position on the road and mountain bike, with the top marks among the maximum load in all tests.

FAQ 4: What is SQlab's 'Active System'?

Our exclusive award winning Active system with T-Beam allows the saddle to rock slightly with the hips when pedalling. This dampened lateral tilt allows the saddle body to follow the biomechanical movement of the pelvis on each pedal stroke. The result is a decrease of pressure on the sit bones and a mobilization of the spinal discs. The Active feature can be fine tuned according to personal preference with the enclosed elastomers of three different densities. The elastomers are simple and quick to exchange. Recommended for cyclists that experience pain in their back, hips or knees or are known to have one leg slightly longer than the other.

FAQ 6: How to measure your sit bones and select the correct saddle?
\n\nDealers are trianed to do this. You can measure your sit bones your self too.
\n\nBut for best results and selection of correct and suitable saddle we recommend
\n\nyou see a trained dealer.
\n\n\n\n
1) Put the measurement cardboard (flat side down) on a chair and sit on it.
\n\n2) Arch your back and possibly go on your toes to push the seat bones further out.
\n\n3) Pull yourself down onto to the seat area with your hands to increase the
\n\npressure on to the measurement cardboard.
\n\n4) Get up. The seat bones have imaged themselves on the waves of the cardboard.
\n\nThe impressions can be clearly marked with the marker. Mark the center point.
\n\nAfter obtaining seat bone distance add 0 cm to 4 cm according to correction factor
\n\nof riding position.
\n
\nFor sensitive sit bones we recommend the active series.
\n
\nSit bone prints with different sizes, left and right, indicate pelvic malposition.
In these cases the active series is the clear solution.
