\n\nWe know that every individual is unique.
\n\nWe know that every day we read or watch as the society we live in changes from how we knew it to be just two or three years ago let alone compared to when we were much younger.
\n\nYou don’t have to go far to see war, hate, inequality, racism or the oppression of someone or something.
\n\nThis is our society. We are all part of its structure and its life-force.
\n\nHere, in our very tiny part of the world, we want to try and create a place where we do not accept that ‘life just happens’. We want to help create a community where we know it is safe to be different, a place where we can all strive for a ‘good’ life (which will look different for each of us).
\n\nWe are a group of people who will never give up on our community or the people who live within it.
\n\nWe acknowledge that we will win some fights, back away from others and also lose some.
\n\nWe believe there should never be room for humiliation by word or deed.
\n\nWe provide advocacy for those who need it and who ask us to assist them.
\n\nWe strive to always think of, and refer to, people’s abilities.
\n\nWe do not see the need for ‘labeling’ people because that is never helpful.
\n\nWe try to see things from alternative viewpoints.
\n\nWe do not have a box to think outside of because we know that it should never have been there to start with.
\n\nWe are passionate about human rights, citizenship and social justice.
\n\nWe know that people often express their frustrations in a way that we do not understand. We believe it is our job to interpret this.
\n\nWe treat adults as adults and children as children.
\n\nWe do not always do things in the way they have always been done.
\n\nWe do not do things differently, we do different things.
\n\nWe do not see ourselves as professionals with power and expertise. We believe that our customers are the experts in their own lives and our role is to try and support them, to the best of our ability, with their aspirations, needs and wants.
\n\nWe are very aware of the language that we use, as we are of our manners.
\n\nWe have a fire in our belly for the work that we do.
\n\nWe will get things wrong. Please tell us when we do because we are not special or precious, we truly want to know.
