3yo Poets Voice Gelding, Poets Advocate was an impressive 2L winner at Hawkesbury today in a 1300m maiden. His win wasn't his only achievement on the day.

Poets Advocate recorded a time of 1.17.91 which is a new class record for the 1300m maiden distance at Hawkesbury.

\n\n

\n\n

Ridden by Tommy Berry, Poets Advocate travelled in behind a good speed and Berry was able to extricate the gelding from this position with some brave riding to sprint clear over the concluding stages. It was a strong win and no doubt the first of many for this young horse.

Poets Advocate spent a week on the Water Walker at Aquagait prior to this win.
