There are many reasons why children and adolescents come to attend psychology services, and it is often their schooling difficulties, anxiety or challenging behaviours that alert us that something is troubling them.

We utilise a range of psychology therapy techniques to suit each individual client. Clients at our practice are generally aged up to 13 years. Cognitive, developmental, educational and diagnostic assessments are provided for young people up to 17 years of age.

\nOur therapy services are evidence-based, practical and designed to engage young people and their families. When working with families, we draw on best practices, as well as information from parents, the young person and referring sources to establish clear goals for our intervention. \nOnline Therapy sessions are conducted face to face over Skype, and materials to support sessions as well as Practice Tasks will be emailed to clients following the session. To access this service, you must have a current Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your General Practitioner. You are entitled to claim Medicare Rebates for these sessions, providing their referral and personal details have been provided to us, upon booking the session. A MHCP allows you to receive a Medicare rebate for up to 10 therapy sessions per calendar year. In accessing online therapy services, 3 (preferably initial, sixth and tenth session) out of these 10 sessions must be conducted in person at our offices.

Are you eligible for this service?

Families living in MMM 4 to 7 are eligible for these services. The easiest way to check if you live in an area that qualifies for access to Telehealth (video conferencing therapy) services is to enter your address into the MMM interactive map available on the Australian Government Doctor Connect website.
\n\n
\n\nAnyone is welcome to access these services if they find engaging in therapy in this way more convenient/suitable to their needs. However, only people who live in the designated areas outlined above can claim a Medicare rebate for video conference therapy sessions.
