Ampersand Interiors founder, Leanne Smeallie, is an experienced and highly regarded interior designer. The first 10 years of her career were spent between London and Sydney designing some of the world’s most luxurious hotel suites for the Oberoi Group and Hyatt Hotels.

Working in luxury hotel and leisure design honed her skills for project management, highly functional spatial design, budget control and exceptional attention to detail.

Since returning to Australia she has developed a personalised and bespoke design service. Leanne involves clients in the creative process, to ensure designs are tailored to meet their unique needs and exceed expectations.

Leanne specialises in planning practical environments that can be lived in and enjoyed by everyone. Her great love and admiration for the simplicity and beauty of natural materials, can be seen in the spaces she creates. She layers timbers, stones, metals and linens to create palettes that are beautiful and strong.
