Hey! I’m Eleanor, I’m a second year Law student and I’m the Treasurer of the Bar Society for 2018-19.

As Treasurer, I am responsible for the society’s budget and ensuring that our funds are spent in a way that is most beneficial to our members.

Please don’t be put off our society because of stereotypes; the Bar Society is devoted to increasing much-needed diversity within the profession. In aid of this, we offer means-tested support for students who are eligible for bursaries, so let us know if this applies to you and we will help you out with membership and ticketing costs!

If, like me, you aren’t fully sure of what you want to do yet, Bar Soc may still be helpful for you. There are lots of workshops to try out if you want to strengthen your confidence and public speaking skills. I also recommend the Wine, Cheese and Chambers events as a chance to speak to existing barristers about their work (free wine and cheese may also appeal to you…)
